I had one night at home yesterday, to catch up on New York Fashion Week, and pack. I sipped chilled champagne and listened to Jazz on iTunes. It's very calming after a long plane trip. And, before embarking on yet another. I woke up early today to shoot this outfit for you and to finish packing for New York. My flight leaves tonight! I hope you enjoy my summarized review of NYFW thus far. Just a snippet of thoughts from a few of the collections that stood out most.

Diane von Furstenberg - Classic, tinged with American Retro. Simple cuts and silhouettes mingling with powerful patterns. Tamed with the convention of the Sixties.

Prabal Gurung - Color blocking done with severity and aplomb. I find the use of purple melding with metallic sea-green blues mesmerizing.

ADAM - Sheer seems to continue running rampant on the runway. First Fall 2011 and continuing through Spring 2012. This time, however, playing with pastels.

Altuzarra - Glossy black (and brown) leather mixed in with dark floral prints fare well. Shocks of yellow and green printed frocks raise an eyebrow and enlist a nod of approval.

Alexander Wang - Wet hair on the runway? The collection, to me.. anyway, screamed Star Trek, Motocross with a touch of Navajo print. I did enjoy seeing the vibrant pops of color and flats, for once, on the Catwalk.

Jill Stuart - Splashes of pastel, unfolding the narration of a Modern Fairy Tale.

L.A.M.B. - Loud prints, funky footwear and lots of leg took center stage. Punctuated by color!

Peter Som - The trajectory of the collection ensured Spring to be filled with floral prints, neon brights and the prettiest floor-length dresses. All- making me gasp!

*I'll be back to report on part two of Fashion Week soon!
