Holly Golightly

Who better to emulate this Halloween than the person I adore most in the world, my icon, Audrey Hepburn. Here I am portraying the role of Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffanys. What are YOU this Halloween? What are YOUR plans? We're off to the Cinema as we always do each year, this time to see Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D. Then it's to a Costume Party at night under the stars. I made the caramels.

Holly Golightly: You know those days when you get the mean reds?
Paul Varjak: The mean reds, you mean like the blues?
Holly Golightly: No. The blues are because you're getting fat and maybe it's been raining too long, you're just sad that's all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you're afraid and you don't know what you're afraid of. Do you ever get that feeling?
Paul Varjak: Sure.
Holly Golightly: Well, when I get it the only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany's. Calms me down right away. The quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there. If I could find a real-life place that'd make me feel like Tiffany's, then - then I'd buy some furniture and give the cat a name!

Moon River, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,
wherever you're going I'm going your way.
Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end--
waiting 'round the bend,
my huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.

When it's all over we can barely discuss

Lately in love with
:
Anna Selezneva at Giles SS 2010. Olivia Palermo on The City and her wardrobe in general. Sky high platform wedges in the likes of Christian Louboutin and Dolce and Gabbana. Perfectly lined eyes. Denim shorts with tights. Messy MK Olsen hair, in other words beautifully disheveled. Snejana Onopka at Valentino SS 2010. Lacy black lingerie as Natalia Vodianova seductively shares above. Alexa Chung back On. Rachel Bilson back in the paparazzi circuit. Denim shirts making a comeback; spotting Dree Hemingway in the same Topshop one I own, exhilarating. Britney Spears singing. Positive quotes about life written in Italian. This is It: Michael Jackson.

Can't stop lusting over
: Classic Chanel chain bags. Knee socks. Pearls and glittering stones for necklaces. Red lipstick. Natasha Poly in the perfectly worn in leather jacket look. Miu Miu SS 2010; seeing braids everywhere, something I wear myself practically everyday. Blazers. Socks with sandals. Platforms. Alexander McQueen's demonic collection-- alien invasion or just really innovative thinking? Purple eye shadow. Flashes of red on dresses, especially when jewel encrusted. Flapper influences. Doll soft complexions à la Siri Tollerød.

Autumn Orange

How was your weekend? I hope great. It's become quite a tradition among the women in my family that Sunday is the day the men cook, not the women. So keeping with tradition, the men made a barbecue and the women relaxed. Afterward, we spent the afternoon scouring for Sweety's favorite pet store, Pet Supermarket; which for some reason doesn't seem to be around here. Luckily, we came across Petco which conveniently carries her favorite brand of pet food and treats. I've also recently become acquainted with Redbox, a movie rental service akin to a candy vending machine. 1 movie for $1 per day. In Florida, we used to rent all of the latest releases from the local library for free. That isn't the case in North Carolina, I guess reading is more standard than renting movies? The cold does that to you I guess.

Pain au Chocolat

Whenever I immerse myself in Chanel, a beret or in decadent perfume; I feel a need for some pain au chocolate (chocolate pastries) while strolling the streets of Paris. One of the necklaces I am wearing, the one with the black satin bow, is from the house of Lanvin and one of my most prized possessions.

On another note, I'm thrilled to share news of a brand new Ice Skating rink opening in Raleigh, one to rival the Ice Rink at Rockefeller Center in New York City. I'm a dancer and skater at heart, so this news greatly excites me!! One step closer, Lissa. Now, if only I had access to the Met steps, too. ;)

Battle Star

October for me is the starting point to the Holiday kick off.... I love candy corn, costumes, pumpkin bread, wearing jackets, orange leaves, emulating Fall fashions from celebrities, models and rock stars.... feeling the weather change. What's your favorite part about Fall?

Thank you Steve Madden for these amazing Alexander McQueen ankle booties. I swear, except for missing the skull on the zipper, they are identical and just as cool. I get a Back to The Future 80's vibe from them..... This awesome jacket from The Scarlet Room made me want to play a little homage to the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson-- and his music. Thriller, is one of my favorites come Halloween time!

Flash in the Pan

It's hard adjusting to a new way of life, new roads, restaurants, location and climate. I have noticed my taste in food changing as well, I find myself leaning more and more towards warm things like soups and Hot Cocoa and less of the fruity or salad infused options. New routines are also beginning to pop up, such as craving more books to read. At night, when it drops down to the low 40º's all I want to do is crawl under the covers with a good book to read. Which brought to mind the last time I felt this way; when I was a little girl. I remember being taken to the library, back then (and still now) felt like being led to the Holy Grail. I'd spend hours perusing the Children's bookshelves for just the perfect reads. I feel young and alive again now, as I once did then.

I'd like to ask you, what were some of your childhood favorites? And what are you reading now?
